Before becoming a mom to four daughters, I was a journalist.
My experiences exploring nearly 25 new countries in the last two years have sent me back to my writing roots, rediscovering a deep desire to cultivate and tell people’s stories that inform, inspire, and transport minds to new places.
To showcase my ability to write for publications, I’ve compiled a selection of writing samples from my archives and a list of Atlanta publications I wrote for before the digital age.
Knoxville News Sentinel
In 2011, I spent a year writing a weekly column featuring community news for the Knoxville News Sentinel, in addition to feature stories highlighting arts, culture, and local happenings in the city. A few links to my stories survived media buyouts and paywalls.
- South Knox dad makes the perfect gift for mom
- Artist taps South Knoxville roots for inspiration
- New shop piques curiosity and local support
- Knoxville journalism teacher, students earn top awards
- Disc Exchange owner speaks out about Henley Bridge
- Shaking off allergies: New salt spa in Bearden offers relief to clients
The Tennessean, Nashville’s daily newspaper, published a guest editorial I wrote on car seat safety laws. While the original link is no longer active, the editorial is included in this Simply Natural Mom post.
